Has anyone read this book?

How to use Web 2.0 in your library by Phil Bradley

I have reserved the book, but was wondering if anyone has read it. There is a portal that supplements the book at http://www.zimbio.com/How+to+use+Web+2.0+in+your+library .

LinkedIn

LinkedIn may be a good "thing" to add to our list, especially since its use could tie in with our Job Help Centers.

Web 2.0 for customers and other libraries

A couple of examples.
These are available for customers. They seem to mirror the 23 things format, but don't let yourself be limited by that.

A Taste of Web 2.0

Name It Now

Place your suggestions for names of our "things" area in the comments. The more the merrier.

Other libraries and the 23 things

23 Things Summit

23 Things Summit Archive

23 Things Summit Notes

23 Things Summit wrap-up

23 Things for Library Staff

Missouri's Library Learning 2.0

Nebraska's Learning 2.0

Minnesota's 23 Things on a Stick

Arizona's Baker's Dozen

PLCMC's Learning 2.0

Vermont also did the 23 things:

"Badge" Example

Check out Wordcamp Columbus. They used a blog post to deliver the code for others to post their badge or banner. A great way to spread the word about their event. What do you think?

IM

What do we think about adding Instant Messaging to our list of "things"? We'd be able to promote our new "Ask It" chat reference service...

Just a thought.

UPDATED 4/1/09

We could introduce some of the free IM/chat services out there as well as skype. Or maybe also include a link that defines some of the chat lingo. Similar to the way chat was presented in Arizona's Baker's Dozen.

Kick Off

Just a quick post to kick off the new blog.

Welcome!

I'm looking forward to discussing what we uncover as we explore Web 2.0 tools for the next couple of weeks.

Keep us posted!
